ERMI: DNA Mold Testing

The EPA-developed ERMI (Environmental Relative Moldiness Index) testing, based on DNA analysis, is the only way to quickly and accurately identify what mold types and spore counts are found in homes, apartments and other types of properties that can affect your health. An ERMI test is simple, fast, non-invasive and 99.99% accurate. JVI has partnered with one of the leading laboratories in the world, designated by the EPA to perform ERMI tests and analysis, assuring customers of accurate and certified results.

Real-Estate: An ERMI score is a valuable marketing tool for a house listed for sale, helping buyers and sellers understand the ‘health’ of a home. And its seal of approval could mean the difference between a customer signing the papers or continuing to look at “For Sale” signs.

Health: Asthma, allergies, sinusitis, breathing problems? These and other serious health issues can all be caused by mold growing inside your home. Dust samples collected in your home that have fallen to the ground are analyzed through a similar process of identifying human DNA. The 36 different types of molds tested for have been linked to heath consequences that may negatively affect an immune compromised individual. Once you receive the report showing the DNA breakdown of your property, you may even provide it to a medical professional to see if corrective action is required.

JVI gained extensive experience as a Management & Marketing (M&M) contractor for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 1999 to 2005 performing over 2.1 million property inspections but not limited to visual examinations for the presence of mold/mildew. All inspections are manually and digitally reviewed by our Quality Assurance Department prior to delivery to ensure accuracy and accountability.
